A child
is born. A journey begins. I created this painting to embrace
the child in all of us; to celebrate children everywhere, young
and old; and, to capture a colorful snapshot of our incredible
journey called Life. The buildings represent the many places
we will live and travel to in our lifetimes ? a new window to
the world. The musician with his guitar sings softly, radiantly?
after all, what would the world be without music and art? And
we see the children riding that challenging tightrope of life.
As they move up the ladder, they know better than us all that
it takes giving each other a hand to reach the top. Their world
is filled with birds carrying the message of peace as children
everywhere spread seeds of change that will surely fertilize
the world with love. Each child deserves a chance to climb this
ladder called Life. Every child deserves a life filled with
laughter, learning, and love. |

from a dream I had, we start with the buildings swaying above-
showing the places we all travel to and live in our life times.
The white horse dancing freely symbolizes peace, and the guitar
and elephant playing the trumpet represents the importance of
creativity and music in our lives. The cherub dancing to the
music represents the child in all of us, and the ladder represents
us moving forward in life. The home placed carefully in the
middle is where where we always come back to ..our center. The
man giving in to his inner child-rides away to work while his
lover swoops down and gives him an unexpected kiss in the midst
of chaos ~never forgetting the importance of the little things

Orchids
have long held a grip on the human imagination, and my love
for orchids stems from them reminding me of people. Delicate,
beautiful, yet fickle -each species is as unique as our own
human variety. Orchids are beautiful, fascinating flowers; as
one botanist describes calls them "living Jewels."
There are over 25,000 different types of orchids, and many are
them are threatened, endangered or extinct, usually due to habitat
destruction or poaching. With the right care most orchids are
virtually immortal. This painting represents one of the oldest
orchids - the last living in it's natural habitat. This woman
rides her trusty steed up the mountain to protect and pay tribute
to The Last Orchid.

STEPHANIE CLAIR - BIO
With the matrimony of
emotion, cubes and color, CLAIR shares her inspiration from
happy, dreamy moments in life that we can all relate to, but
so easily forget.
- A first love, a last
love, a memory, lovers sipping wine, being enlightened, inspired
by sweet music... those moments are ours to remember- but the
speed of time can erase the memories we all take for granted.
CLAIR tries to capture a snapshot of that moment on canvas.
Each painting has a feeling; each feeling tells a story. Her
eyes in the paintings allow the viewer to reach in and let you
connect. She feels they are the windows to ones soul.
CLAIR’s technique
is a delicate blend of color, technique, imagination, and cubism
meant to evoke mystery and emotion. Her goal is to challenge
the viewer’s eye and mind, as you get lost in a three-dimensional
world of people passion and beauty.
Influences in
her work include Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Modigliani, and
Kandinsky – hence the bright colors, dreamy people, and
cubist perspectives.
Raised in upstate NY,
CLAIR drew her way through those cold winter days, then soon
after high school she moved to Virginia where she got a BFA
in painting/design at Old Dominion University. She had enough
cold to last a lifetime and now has found home in sunny San
Diego. |
